China Clinker Capacity for recent 5 years（2020-2024）

To promote the green and low-carbon development of cement clinker, China has issued multiple industry policies. For example, the “Cement Industry Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction Special Action Plan” released by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and other departments in May 2024 proposes that by the end of 2025, the following targets should be achieved:

Cement clinker production capacity should be controlled at 1.8 billion tons;The proportion of production capacity meeting the energy efficiency benchmark level should reach 30%;Production capacity below the energy efficiency baseline level should complete technological transformation or be phased out;The comprehensive energy consumption per unit of cement clinker should be reduced by 3.7% compared to 2020 levels.
